My father and the mountain.

Great photo — skip the abuse crap — this picture makes me homesick!

There is a bigness, a vastness, ancient dimensions to this land — Dad — was a man — and did man things.  Mother was a woman — and in her world she did NO MAN THINGS — no matter what needed to be done.  She could have actually WORKED at things that needed to be done on the homestead — my sisters know what I mean —

Father here, he was a lot like the mountain to me.  The mountain was fine, I was fine when I was with the mountain.  That felt natural and fine equally with my father and with the mountain — like I felt OK whenever my mother was gone and only dad was with us on the mountain.  But, that’s me.  I was not ‘right’, not ‘normal’, not ‘ordinary’ — how could I be?   — see *Age 15 – MY ‘VISON’ – ALONE NAKED IN THE WOODS SINGING
